It’s okay to want a break

Our society tells a story that if we’re really meant to do something, we should spend every minute of our lives on it. This story continues to tell us that if we fatigue that maybe that’s not really what we should be doing.

This weekend I wanted a break from my current growing and learning projects.

I went to see a friend compete in a powerlifting competition (1st place, congrats Wynona!) and remembered that I like singing really loudly with my friends in the car, learning about something completely different (like how powerlifting is scored), and getting out of new york city. I was getting to be myself outside of growing cut flowers and my business.

I didn’t know how I would feel coming back home today. I am staying up to write this blog post. I hope it encourages you to take a break, not so that you come back energized (that’s pretty nice too), but so you can be yourself outside of your projects.

You deserve it.

Get outside and play.
